AltRider Cylinder Head Guards for AltRider BMW R 1300 GS / GSA Crash Bars

Valve covers and ignition components are expensive to replace. These guards put thick aluminum between them and the ground before that bill arrives.

The plates are machine-formed from 5000 series aluminum with chamfered edges and deburred surfaces, so installation won't scratch your crash bars. The 360-degree electroplated stainless steel straps wrap fully around the bar tubes, blocking debris and holding position without movement. The inset design reduces snag points during technical riding.

If a guard takes a hit, you replace that piece alone. With welded competitor systems, damage often means replacing the entire crash bar. That difference adds up fast.

The flexible mounting system can also fit onto crash bars that have already been bent or damaged — where rigid designs cannot. One crash does not have to mean starting over.

Valve covers, spark plugs, and ignition coils sit exposed on the R 1300 GS cylinders. A single off-road tip-over can mean an expensive repair far from any dealership. These cylinder head guards are built to prevent that.

They mount exclusively to AltRider lower crash bars, integrating into one unified protection system. The guards sit inset inside the bars, which reduces snag points and keeps the profile clean. Brushed stainless steel straps wrap 360 degrees around the crash bar tube — no movement, no debris getting between the strap and the bar.

If a guard takes a hard hit, you replace just that guard. You do not have to pull the crash bars or replace the whole system. The flexible mounting also works on bars that have already taken an impact, where rigid systems cannot fit.

All edges are chamfered and deburred. Installation will not scratch your bars, and finishing washers keep the hardware sitting flush and professional.
